PUBLIC SERVICES MOST EXPENSIVE IN BULGARIA
Pari
BULGARIA has the most expensive public services in Europe. Taxpayers are harassed and racketeered by the state administration, the chairman of the taxation policy commission at the Union for Private Economic Enterprise, Adnan Lidianov, said.
For the collection of BGN 0.01 by the state taxpayers pay BGN 3. The direct expenditures of the state amount to BGN 13.
For four years the cabinet has failed to fulfil its promise and improve the quality of public services, Lidianov said. Obtaining an electronic signature costs between BGN 200 and 300 and requires a lot of documents. It is a vicious practice of the taxation bodies to demand a pile of documents, which sometimes borders the absurd. At the same time a tax inspector makes an average of 60 audits a year.
